The giants of the computer world, Microsoft have removed the veil on a project that has been years in the making. The brand new internet search engine, named “Bing” is about to change the way in which people run searches across the world.
The technology itself has been designed to understand what people are searching for on the internet through what Microsoft is calling Intuition or a “Decision Engine”. It uses a complex series of algorithms and key- words patterns to determine what the consumer is looking for. However Microsoft has also included “Semantic Technology”, designed to retrieve possible meanings from phrases and contexts to help deliver the search results.
Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer feels that today’s search engines fail to help people use the information their searches provide and that is why Bing will ultimately be successful. Bing delivers search results and answers to the questions that you are asking, by providing you with information that is relevant to your topic. It is simply a less generic searching system.
Bing was created with a depth of human understanding and research behind it. The makers of Bing had to delve into the inner workings of human communication to map out all possible ways a person may search for subjects. Bing will soon replace MSN search which has been falling behind Google and Yahoo in recent times, and if Microsoft has its way Bing will mark the beginning of an entirely new web search engine era.
