Card Reader USB and its function

Care Reader USB is small in size that supports and helps to read portable media cards. It is connected to USB port. It has the capacity to accept one or many formats of media cards.  
Some of the examples of media cards are – SD Cards, CompactFlash, xD Cards and so on. However, it depends up on the card reader because some readers have single slot whereas some other readers have more slots that supports different types of media cards.
In case if a computer dosen’t have an in-built card reader you can replace it by Card Reader USB to transfer files and data to hard drive from media card. When you insert the media card into the slot of the reader in order to read the data, the reader emits the electrical signals that in turn help to read the stored data on the media card.
Apart from reading function, some of the Card Reader USB also has a writing function. This feature not only allows storing the files from computer to media card but it also helps to edit the existing files or sometimes helps to erase the card completely. More or less this process of altering the data is similar to that of a reading data.
Also the Card Reader USB helps to gather the results and transfer them to the computer program, which require the information from the card.
